Natural Stone: The Superior Choice for Home Exterior Cladding

At Garrity Stone Inc., we believe nothing adds more value or appeal to your home than natural stone. Natural stone cladding can be added to your porch, entryway, support columns, foundation, or even the entire exterior of your home, to create a unique classic look. While synthetic veneer products are popular, it’s hard to beat the beauty and durability of natural stone for home exterior cladding.

What Is Stone Cladding?

Stone cladding is natural or synthetic stone that is applied to the outside of a building. At Garrity Stone, we carry a variety of building stones that can be used for home exterior cladding, including Napoleon White Rubble and Oklahoma Brown Rubble. Fieldstone and ledgestone are also popular choices for creating a natural stone veneer.

What Does Stone Veneer Look Like?

Because stone veneer is made from natural stone, it comes in a variety of colors, shapes, and textures. Generally, the stone is cut into slices ranging from 3/4-inch to 1-3/4-inches thick with variable heights and widths. Natural stone does not fade with sun exposure and is incredibly durable.

How Is It Installed?

When it comes to natural stone veneer, we recommend hiring a professional mason to install it. A mason will know how to best apply the stone, as it depends upon the texture of the underlying surface. Mortar is used to stack and pattern the stone. Then, grout is typically added between the stones, although this is not necessary if you prefer a dry-stack look.
