Restoring Your Gravel Driveway

If you’ve ever had a gravel driveway, you know that Indiana winters can cause mass destruction. Snow plows take off with your stone, pushing it into your lawn or down the road. Snow and ice can build up and then melt away or even flood, carrying your gravel with it. Your vehicle creates wheel ruts, making your driveway uneven and rough.

As soon as spring hits, you’re probably ready to get your gravel driveway back in good shape. Driveway experts recommend that you repair potholes and replace driveway gravel two times a year: spring and fall. First, spend some time repairing potholes to repair damages and level out the driveway.

Then, you will want to spread additional rock. A fresh layer of gravel can promote good drainage and help you avoid puddles or standing water where mosquitoes and other nuisances gather. Before purchasing gravel, be sure to know the size of your driveway, so you know just how much to buy.

Not sure where to start? Let us help! We at Garrity Stone, Inc. carry quality rock and gravel products. We can help you select the right gravel and determine how much to purchase, based on the size of your driveway. We also offer gravel delivery, so you don’t have to worry about how to get it home.
